Gather your load, prepare to travel the road..

Posted in Woof at 10:39 am by arfnwoof

It’s time to shake off this sullen mood and take a drive.  There’s nothing a good doggie loves more than a fast car with an open window, and I think the guys could use a little sun, dirt and water.

Thanks for the puppy updates that have been coming in; And for those of you too enamored with your new babies to let me know how they’re doing, *ahhem* I forgive you, but realize that I’m used to waking up to that adorable face in the morning!

Go your own way

*sniff* That’s it.  The last baby just left.  Its both sad and happy times, but there’s no way to not miss them.  At least I know they have their own way to go and a lot of people that already love them.  Still, it’s a lonely desert afternoon.

All Smiles

Posted in Woof at 1:16 pm by arfnwoof

I think this has got to be my favorite out of all the puppy pictures I’ve taken over the last few months.

allsmilesI still cant quite fathom how they went from wet, whiny, gooey little blobs to these handsome, silly, sweet little dogs, but here they are.  They still have the puppy chub, but look at those long faces;  And talk about teamwork, they’ve already figured that if a few of them distract me, the rest can build a dog-pyramid to get into the food bags! IANA has been pretty spry for a mama lately and chases the little guys around the house.  I guess she figures I could use some help, but after she’s had enough its always *scratch scratch* at the door and “Hey Ma, could you watch the kids while I go out for a while?” :)  Dogs, gotta love ’em.

Pack of Ninjas

Posted in Woof at 3:47 pm by arfnwoof

Its been a busy week, and boy am I envious of the pups energy.  They’re boldly exploring where no pup has explored before (or so they think) and I keep pulling puppies out of interesting crevices.  I thought the bookshelf was haunted when the paperbacks started moving on their own, but moments later a cheeky Cache springs out and laughs at what a scardy cat the Big Head Lady is. :)  Afterwards the livingroom erupted into an old kung fu movie, or some sort of ancient puppy martial art at least. (I’m not going to question the technique of those skilled warriors, are you?)

And on a geeky note, we saw the new Star Trek, which was pretty fun.  Packet of course was upset at us for not taking him along to see his hero, his middle name IS Tiberius after all.

Nap and a Sunbeam

Posted in Woof at 6:59 pm by arfnwoof

Ahh the good life

Ahh the good life

We’re all back from the vet and now I have just the confirmation a proud puppy parent needs; the vet staff all agreed these are the sweetest babies *grin*  Shots and wormings went well and I don’t think the pups held it against the Dr. for her surprise needle assault.  The weigh-in results were topsy trurvy, just like every week.  This time Token and Parity are tied for smallest with ODI getting the heavyweight title.  El Bidi is actually earning her keep playing big sis to the little ones, and they think pile on the chihuahua is the best game ever.  Eventually being sweet and lovable takes its toll and puppy energy must be replenished with the help of a nap and a sunbeam.  As the late Mr. Vonnegut would say, If this isn’t nice, I don’t know what is.

And Occasionally, Otters.

The pack and I are headed off to the vet today, so while we’re gone I’ll leave you with a little something from Emmet, Ma Otter, and Mr. Henson.   (* There sure is nothing like Ma Otter’s voice to bring out a howl in the pups *)
